On July 25, 2018, the fourth edition of Tongyuan Academic Forum 2018 was successfully held in the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The theme of this academic forum was "Machinery Manufacturing - Intelligent Future", and the Chairman of Dongling Company, Wang Xiaozhong, was invited to give a keynote speech.
On the occasion, Chairman Wang Xiaozhong, from the perspective of an elder, combined with his life experience and entrepreneurial experience, described his development process of leading the Dongling team to achieve a magnificent transformation by relying on scientific and technological innovation, and shared his management wisdom and management philosophy summarized in his years of innovation and creation practice. He said that science knows no borders and there is no need to worship Western science excessively, and that Chinese people can also do well in scientific research as long as they are dedicated and confident. He encouraged the students to take a pragmatic and rigorous approach to research and scientific careers, starting from scratch and keeping their feet on the ground. The students benefited from the insightful exposition.
During the interactive session, the moderator and students raised questions on the relationship between product efficiency and technological innovation, the role and protection of intellectual property rights and the employment needs of engineering graduates, to which Chairman Wang Xiaozhong gave patient and detailed answers. At the end of the event, Mr. Wang Xiaozhong was appointed as the "Career Mentor" of the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering, and Mr. Gu Xiyao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, presented him with a letter of appointment and a souvenir.
As an outstanding entrepreneur in Jiangsu Province, Chairman Wang Xiaozhong actively fulfils his social responsibility and is keen on teaching entrepreneurial experience. He has held such social positions as mentor for outstanding engineers at Soochow University, visiting professor at Changshu University of Technology and mentor for dual innovation at the National Federation of Industry and Commerce. His business wisdom and life insights have been widely disseminated in one preaching and exchange activity after another, and have achieved good social repercussions.
